Al-Ansar Academy Suleja, is a co-educational, faith-based nursery, primary and secondary school located in the heart of Suleja.   1. Head of School

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 8 – 10 years’ work experience as a school administrator.
    • Minimum qualification of MBA/MSc and BSc.
    • PhD, CMD, CIPM, CIPD, SHRM or any related professional qualification would be an added advantage.
    • Must have a good knowledge in the use of computer.
    • Must have excellent written and communication skills.
    • Must possess leadership skills and be able to motivate staff and inspire students.

    Job Decriptions

    1. The Head of School serves as the educational leader, responsible for managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets the approved curricula and mission of the school.
    2. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Head of School works collaboratively to direct and inspire the school community and to communicate effectively with parents. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.
    3. The Head of School must at all times display and practice an accessible and approachable personality while interacting with parents, students, and staff. Also, he/she must ensure that the academic standard of the school is of the highest quality and excellence.
    4. Ability to speak Arabic language will be an added advantage.
  2. Assistant Head of School/Head of Religious Studies Requirements:

    Requirements:

    • Must have at least six (6) years’ work experience as a teacher in schools where he/she has held some academic or leadership positions over the years.
    • Minimum qualification of MSc/M.Ed.
    • A graduate qualification in any of the various branches of Islamic Education is an added advantage.
    • Must have good planning and organizational skills.
    • Must have detailed knowledge of child development and learning, health and safety procedures, and proper record keeping.
    • Must be able to work under pressure.

    Job Decriptions

    The Assistant HoS/HRS shall:

    1. Be passionate about working with children and embrace the school’s vision and mission.
    2. Ensure effective delivery of high-quality teaching and maintenance of academic standards.
    3. Manage the day to day operations of the school, assisting the Head of School.
    4. Monitor teaching and learning activities to ensure all students are able to make progress in all areas of learning.
    5. Maintain a positive and appropriate educational environment, and create a program that meets the intellectual and emotional needs of all our students.
    6. Have the responsibility for the implementation of the school policies as approved and directed by the School.
    7. Oversee the Tahfiz and Arabic Department according to a timetable which shall be accessible to supervising staff, teachers and students.
    8. Prepare work books and notes (Muzakkirat) that might be required.
    9. Prepare the curriculum breakdown and make same available to teachers.
    10. Work with the HoS to prepare time-table for all classes.
    11. Evaluate and appraise staff performance.
    12. Prepare End of Term and Annual Reports on activities of his/her section and submit to the HoS.
    13. Actively participate in capacity building programs of Qur’an and Arabic teachers in the Tahfiz section.
    14. Ensure that only acceptable Islamic teaching takes place within the school.
    15. Liaise with the HoS to ensure that all teachers in the section are well motivated and taken care of.
    16. Ensure that all students on completion of Primary 5, memorize at least one- third of the Qur’an.
    17. Perform such related functions as may be assigned to him/her by the HoS or other superiors.
  3. Teachers of All Subjects (Indicate Subject on CV and Suitability Letter)

    Under the supervision of the Head of School, teachers will effectively plan and teach subject(s) as assigned by the HoS based on their areas/subjects of specialisation and competency, and also help to strengthen physical, moral and emotional behaviour and mentor students to develop and fulfil their academic potentials.

    Requirements:

    • Applicants must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in area of subject - B.Sc +NCE/B.Sc (Ed)/B.Ed/PGDE/PDE/M.Ed as appropriate for teaching Kindergarten, Elementary or High Schools.
    • Must be a registered member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
    • The teacher shall have not less than five (5) years’ work experience as a teacher in a school.
    • Cambridge training certifications will be an added advantage.
    • Proficient in the subject(s) of teaching.
    • Good classroom management.
    • A passion for learning and sharing knowledge with others.
    • Strong disciplinarian.
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

    2. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
    3. Develop, prepare and request for creative teaching aids to assist him/her dispense the job effectively.
    4. Instruct against hate and prejudice in class at all times and enforce school discipline rules always.
    5. Plan lessons to be delivered (lesson plan).
    6. Assess and record progress and prepare students for examinations.
    7. Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum and adhere to the approved curriculum.

  4. Qur’an Teachers

    Requirements:

    • The job holder must be a Hafiz with vast knowledge in reciting the Qur’an with Tajweed. The job holder should also be able to communicate fluently orally and in writing using the Arabic language.
    • The job holder shall have not less than three (3) years’ work experience as a teacher in a school.
    • Having a Qur’an Ijaza will be an added advantage.

    • Applicants must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in area of subject - B.Sc + NCE/B.Sc (Ed)/B.Ed/PGDE/PDE/ M.Ed.
    • Must be a registered member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria.
    • Must have a good knowledge in the use of computer.
    • He/she shall possess an NCE, graduate qualification in education or a graduate qualification/HND with a postgraduate diploma in education. The applicant should be able to speak Arabic fluently.
    • The job holder shall have not less than three (3) years’ work experience as a teacher in a school.
    • A previous experience of teaching in an Arabic speaking country may be an added advantage.

  6. School Accountant

    Requirements:

    • Applicants must possess a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in area of subject - B.Sc + NCE/B.Sc (Ed)/B.Ed/PGDE/PDE/ M.Ed.
    • He/she shall possess a graduate qualification in Accounting and Finance or a related discipline.
    • The Accountant shall have not less than five (5) years’ work experience as an Accountant in a school system.
    • Advanced MS Excel skills required.
    • Strong attention to details and good analytical skills.
    • Hands on experience with accounting software.

    Job Decriptions

    The Accountant shall:

    1. Keep custody of all financial records of the school.
    2. Issue receipts for all funds paid into the school’s account.
    3. Ensure that all expenses are backed by necessary approvals.
    4. Prepare monthly, termly and annual budget schedules for the school.
    5. Responsible for preparing school fee(s) payment tellers.
    6. Ensure all school fees and other payments are made promptly.
    7. Prepare monthly payroll.
    8. Monitor all income and expenditure relating to internal budgets.
    9. Liaise with banks and other financial institutions on behalf of the School.
    10. Record, classify and summarize accounting transactions.
  7. Admin Officer/Secretary

    Requirements:

    • The job holder shall possess a graduate qualification and a professional qualification in administration or have years of experience in administrative work.
    • Admin Officer should have not less than five (5) years’ work experience in an administrative or school leadership positions.

    Job Decriptions

    The typical tasks to be undertaken by the School Secretary include:

    1. Keep custody of all financial records of the school.
    2. Drafting of official letters and correspondence.
    3. Drafting and distributing school bulletins.
    4. Compiling reports accurately and efficiently.
    5. Filing student reports and other documents.
    6. Managing the school phone line.
    7. Managing the school email.
    8. Treating incoming and outgoing mails.
    9. Dealing with queries and complaints.
    10. Taking messages for teachers.
    11. Receiving parents and visitors who arrive at the school.
    12. Ensuring that visitors sign the appropriate visitors’ book
    13. Providingvisitorswithappropriatedirectionsandhelpingthemmovearound the school.
    14. Updating records which relate to both students and staff members.
    15. Taking accurate minutes at meetings.

    17. Liaising with teachers, parents, and other professionals including social workers.
  8. IT Officer

    Requirements:

    • He/she shall possess a graduate qualification in Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology and have up-to date ICT skills/knowledge.
    • The ICT Officer shall have not less than three (3) years’ work experience in the field of computing and ICT especially in a school or IT firm.
    • Good programming skills can be an added advantage.

    Job Decriptions

    The ICT Officer shall:

    1. Manage the ICT laboratory.
    2. Manage the school internet and intranet network infrastructure.
    3. Manage the school PABX telephony and CCTV systems.
    4. Assist to set up computer systems and equipment to be used during computer classes.
    5. Assist in teaching during computer lessons.
    6. Maintain and keep inventory of all computer systems in the school.
    7. Recommend due processes for the repairs of faulty computer systems.
    8. Assist in the preparation of teaching aids and worksheets that need to be prepared using
    9. computer applications.
    10. Manage the school website.
    11. Train staff that need experience in the field of ICT.
    12. Recommend appropriate computer software whenever needed.
    13. Recommend for the replacement of and procurement of IT systems.
  9. School Nurse

    The School Nurse will provide clinically effective, high quality service of nursing care to students and first aid care to all members of the school community. The School Nurse supports students’ success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all children within the School.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Nursing or Diploma/Certificate equivalent from an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Must be a registered Nurse with a valid nursing license to practice in Nigeria.
    • Must have at least 2 years’ postgraduate nursing experience in a reputable
    • organisation.
    • Medium level proficiency in the usage of Microsoft office tools.
    • Interested in the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of the students.
    • Excellent listening skills.
    • Have respect and fondness for children.
    • Be able to stay calm in emergency situations.
    • Have an understanding of confidentiality and not disclose medical conditions to unauthorised party.
    • Be a healthy role model.
    • Be compassionate and caring.

    Job Decriptions

    He/she shall:

    1. Provide healthcare assistance to students and staff by responding to first aid needs.
    2. Oversee medication administration, health care procedures, and the development of healthcare plans.
    3. Perform health screenings.
    4. Report health issues to School Management and coordinate referrals to retained doctor and hospitals to ensure proper treatment for staff and students in the school when necessary.
    5. Serve as liaison between School Management, family, and hospitals to ensure a healthy school environment.
    6. Serve as consultant with other school professionals, such as food service personnel, physical education teachers, coaches and counsellors.
    7. Monitor immunizations/vaccinations, managing communicable diseases, and assessing the school environment as to prevent injury and safety.
    8. Oversee infection control measures.
    9. Ensure appropriate drugs and medications are available in the School Clinic.
    10. Overseeandsuperviseenvironmentalsanitationoftheschoolcompoundasat when due.
    11. Organize and give health talks on personal hygiene, COVID-19 and other health related matters.
  10. School Caregiver

    The ideal candidate will be tasked to work with children, by caring and supervising them on a daily basis. The job holder will be required to provide services in a friendly manner and in a way that will help in the overall development of children in their care.

    Requirements:

    • Degree/NCE/applicable certification in early childcare development preferred.
    • At least 3 – 4 years of experience working in a professional childcare setting.

    Job Decriptions

    He/she shall:

    1. Ensure a clean and sanitary classroom and all learning/play facilities are clean at all times.
    2. Keep abreast of COVID-19 protocols and ensure care is taken to protect children.
    3. Assist in the proper implementation of childcare and development.
    4. Treat all children (irrespective of ability or disability) with care and compassion, and
    5. upholding all safety standards.

    12. Help the pupils to use the toilet and ensure that their hands are washed with disinfectant.
    13. Create a stimulating, nurturing and safe classroom environment for the pupils.
